It’s finally happened: Google’s excellent photos service is now fully separate from Google+ and is a standalone app in its own right. And it’s really impressive.

The basics: Google announced a Google Photos app for Android, iOS and the web. Formerly a Google+ service, it’s been upgraded with a bunch of new features, the most notable being all users get unlimited free storage for photos and videos.
